GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE - Official  (HD) - Development

During the 1990s following the release of Ghostbusters II, Dan Ackroyd wrote a script for a third movie titled Ghostbusters III: Hellbent. In this concept, the characters are transported to Manhattan, an alternate universe version of Manhattan, where people and places are "unlucky" on earth, meeting Ghostbusters and fighting the devil. At the time, Ackroyd said the studio was interested, even though the original actors weren't. It included a new, small group of Ghostbusters, while Ray, Aegon, and Winston struggled to keep Peter's relationship going with Dana as the business continued. For much of this concept, years later, Ghostbusters: 2009 was the video game.

Until 2004, the studio-driven secular movement was revisited, though Bill Murray has expressed his non-interest in the project, saying that he dislikes sequels. The following year, Ramis confirmed plans to introduce Ben Stiller to the principal cast. However, by 2009, the project had stalled. Both Ramsey and Ackroyd later confirmed that the script calls for a new group of young Ghostbusters, with the latter saying that the cast will highlight gender diversity and New technology used by the Tytler team] Until January 2010, Wrightman confirmed that he directed the film. In March, Murray discussed the film's development, and his intentions to repeat his role. Christmas 2012 had a release schedule. In the October issue of Vanity Fair, Ackroyd commented on the screenplay written by Jane Stopnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, saying they were particularly impressed with how Murray's role was written, and the new team's By implementation. With the original team, while he and Ramis will work on the second draft of the script.

As of August 2011, Ackroyd said the shooting for the project was due to take place later this year, because the younger generation had taken over. When I decided to cancel the acting role, Icroid announced that all the creatives were actively looking for a replacement actor. He also said he wants the Moorins to return as Louis Tolley. In February 2012, the film was stopped when the production team re-evaluated the project. Without Murray, the studio looked for alternative actors and considered its role as a CGI ghost. Through June, Murray once again acknowledged that all involved were trying to produce a third film before leaving for the next month. The next month, Ackroyd confirmed that the movie was in development again, with the stun script rewritten by Eton Cohen. Ackroyd said of the script, "It's about to be done. It's all about it. There is no point in doing it unless it's perfect. That's why we're still doing it." By September, Wrightman announced progress in the remake. In May 2013, Ackroyd discussed plot points, including real life experiences conducted by college students at Columbia University. The plot will revolve around research conducted by the University, with a new team of Ghostbusters posing dangers from other directions, which are shaping the Earth's aircraft to prevent real threats. The script is allegedly written by Murray's character, with the hope that the actor will decide to join the production.

Following the death of Herald Ramsey on February 24, 2014,  Sony Pictures announced that Ramsey would be included through the appearance of Chemo. The script needed to be reworked after Ramis passed away, the project was once again postponed.  By March 2015, it was confirmed that Wrightman would not direct the third film, but would remain as principal producer with plans to begin principal photography by early 2015. [40] Weaver later revealed that his character's son would appear as a member of the team. The project was eventually delayed as the studio sought out a director.

A new movie, originally titled Ghostbusters 3, was released in January 2019. Jason Reitman, son of the original director, Ivan Ratman, will direct the script that he co-authored with Gill Cannon, while Ivan Ratman will work. A producer. According to the Hollywood Reporter's scholarship kit, the film will feature new recruits for the youngsters, two boys and two girls, for the titular team. It will be released on July 10, 2020.The film is expected to begin production in Calgary in July 2019 for about 15 weeks.

Director Jason Reitman says the movie will likely ignore the events of 2016's Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, a reboot of the franchise that featured a female-led cast directed by Paul Feig. Rightman's decision drew the star of the film, Leslie Jones, on Twitter. Jones called this approach "very humiliating"
