Today - February 20 Kurt Cobain would have turned 53 years old. Hundreds of books and thousands of articles have been written that tell about what he did, what he didn’t do, what role he and his Nirvana played in music, culture and just the life of a whole generation.
Something then moved in the mass consciousness. A new era has come. A day later, listeners discovered new idols - after the success of Nirvana, record companies began to buy and promote any "alternative" groups whose existence the big show business had not noticed for decades. Seattle did experience something like a grunge boom: in the 1990s, several adherents of the genre, such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, left this small town at once.
