Dil Bechara (Crossing, Helpless Heart) is a 2020 Hindi language romantic drama film directed by Mukesh Chhabra. Based on John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Ein Stars, the film stars Sushant Singh Rajput, the first Sanjana Singh and Saif Ali Khan. Initially named after Kazi and Mani, filming of Dil Bechara started on July 9, 2018 in Jamshedpur. In October 2017, it was announced that casting director Mukesh Chhabra would begin directing with a remake of Sushant Singh Rajput starrer The Fault in the Stars. In March 2018, it was announced that AR Rahman would arrange the film's music. Then the lead actress, Debent Sanjana Sanghi was announced. The principal photography of the film started on July 9, 2018 in Jamshedpur under the working title of Kazi and Mani. Music rights to this movie have been acquired by Sony Music India. On October 18, 2018, Fox Star Studios suspended director Mukesh Chhabra after allegations of sexual harassment against him. On August 29, 2018, Farah Khan was shooting a song with Rajput in the film. It has also been reported that a song and some scenes will be shot in Paris as part of the film's final schedule. Mukesh Chhabra returned to service after receiving a clean chit from the ICC on the #Metto allegations.In February 2019, the title of the movie was officially changed to "Heartbreak". The new title of the film has been composed with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Rehman has composed for one of the tracks of the film, as the makers felt that the title perfectly embodied the main idea of the film.

Chhabra, who was previously the casting director, will make her film debut as a director. The first written poster of the film was released on July 9, 2018, with an oxygen cylinder mounted on top of the bus at the rear of both leads.The film is set to release on May 8, 2020.

The film score and soundtrack have been commercialized by AR Rehman, with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The music rights of this film have been bought by Sony Music India. The title track of the film was sung by Rehman when the composer shared it on his official Twitter handle, which showed that the title of the film was officially changed from Kazi and Mani in early 2019 because of the song. The lyrics are embellished. Chhabra had previously worked in several films with Rehman and wanted a new music album in his first film, so he approached Rehman, whose role in the movie 99 Songs as a casting director.
