Shamshera Movie

Shamsheera (translation. Sword) is an upcoming 2020 Indian action adventure film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Wani Kapoor. It is produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films. The film is written and directed by Kiran Malhotra. The film, set in the 1800s, is about a band of dacoits who took responsibility for their rights and freedom struggle against the British. [1] Ranbir Kapoor is playing a double role as Shamsheera and her father. Wani Kapoor is playing the role of a dancer.

The film's principal photography began on December 1, 2018 and was rolled out in January 2020. The film will be released on the weekend of Eid-ul-Adha weekend on July 31, 2020 at the Standard and IMA X Theater.

After the announcement of casting along with Ranbir Kapoor's film on May 6, 2018, Sanjay Dutt was confirmed to be the main villain of the film, and his casting was announced on May 10. Four days later, Wani Kapoor's casting was announced, which will be produced as "Indian-born and wanted travel artist". On December 4, 2018, several days after filming began, Roent Roy announced his casting on his Twitter page.

Shamshera Movie Filming

The principal photography of the film started on December 1, 2018, and the shooting will be completed by mid-2019. A large fort was built for the film in Film City, Gurgaon, which required two months of preparation and the efforts of about 300 workers. Wani Kapoor pushes her limits as an artist as she takes professional training in Kathak for film.
