Biographical sports dramas have been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, Raj Harimath, Swetha Harimath and Nagraj Manjoli, Garji Kalkarni and Menu Arora under the banner of T-Series, Tando Films Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Utpat Films. In the film, Bachchan plays a professor who inspires street children to form a football team. Filming began in Nagpur in December 2018,  and was to be released on May 8, 2020.

Jhund (film) Movie Production

Filming of Jhand started in December 2018 in Nagpur. The story of the film is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of Bastiway Sarsars. Bachchan plays the role of a professor who encourages street children to form a football team. This is the second collaboration after Akash, Rinko and Nigraj's 2016 Marathi film Sira. The film was released on August 31, 2019.

The first version of the film was shared by the film's producer Bhushan Kumar on February 19, 2019.

The film was to be released on September 20, 2019, a date tweeted by film critic and commercial analyst Tarn Adarsh. [9] It was later adjourned until December 13, 2019. On January 21, 2020, the release date of the film was announced as May 8, 2020.

On January 21, 2020, the film's official teaser T-series launched.
